Sandi and Alison ventured to the stunning Deben Peninsula on the coast of Suffolk for a truly tranquil escape. With 50 miles of beautiful coastline and an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, this location offered breathtaking views and a rich history. Sandi shared fascinating stories about the fears of the British during the early 19th century, as they built 100 Martello towers along the coastline to protect against potential French invasions. And to top it off, they stayed in a tower, just like Rapunzel! The Found Tower, one of the few remaining Martello towers, was transformed by industrial designer Duncan Jackson into a cozy retreat where Sandi and Alison could put their feet up and enjoy the picturesque surroundings. From the shingle beaches to the historic architecture, the Deben Peninsula provided the perfect backdrop for a peaceful getaway.
